DESCRIPTION:This course will be of interest for physics students beyond th
 eir bachelor\, students who start their master project soon\, and Ph.D. st
 udents from other fields who wish to broaden their horizon. We will discus
 s particle detectors as mostly used in particle physics with focus on sili
 con tracking detectors. If time alows\, we will also venture a bit into me
 dical applications.  \n\nThe intensive week will take place at the Physika
 lisches Institute in Bonn. The exact room and lab will be announced to reg
